Harness the Power of Nature with GutCalm

How Does GutCalm Technology work in the Stomach and Intestines?
  • Makes the peppermint oil heavier than simulated stomach fluid by trapping it in cellulosic fibers.
  • Forms microspheres with a size (~1 millimeter) that spend more time in the stomach (1).
  • Releases the peppermint oil slowly from the microspheres in the stomach and intestines.

The GutCalm Advantage

GutCalm is designed for targeted and sustained delivery in the stomach and the intestines, to manage abdominal discomfort*.

  • IBS patients have the worst abdominal discomfort 30 minutes after a meal(1) while food is being digested in the stomach.
  • Disturbances in the stomach and as a result, the intestines lead to the intensification of symptoms in the gut(2)
  • GutCalm technology (patent pending) allows targeted delivery of peppermint oil in the stomach and the intestines, where abdominal discomfort and related symptoms originate.

FAQ's

What is GutCalm™ used for?

GutCalm helps manage occasional symptoms such as abdominal discomfort, bloating, fullness, gas, urgency to go to the toilet, diarrhea, constipation, and feeling of incomplete bowel movement*.

The 3 main triggers are meals, stress and lifestyle changes.

The active ingredient in GutCalm is peppermint oil. Peppermint leaves and the peppermint oil inside them have been used for centuries to manage occasional gastrointestinal symptoms. Almost half of the content of peppermint oil is L-menthol, which has several desirable activities such as cooling, smooth muscle relaxation, anti-inflammation, anti-infective, analgesic etc.

GutCalm has four ingredients, microcrystalline cellulose (insoluble
fiber), peppermint oil, gelatin (capsule shell) and methyl cellulose (soluble fiber).

GutCalm uses proprietary technology (patent pending) to target
sustained release of peppermint oil in the stomach and the intestines. The other peppermint oil-based supplements are designed to release only in the intestines.

Recent studies have shown that the stomach is a major site for
generating the occasional gastrointestinal symptoms, along with the
intestines. Older technologies avoided releasing peppermint oil in the stomach as it could float in the top of the stomach and help open the esophageal valve, resulting in undesirable side-effects. GutCalm’s microspheres are designed to make peppermint oil sink and avoid its exposure to the valve separating the esophagus and the upper part of the stomach (Cardia).

The peppermint oil is mixed with cellulosic fiber to make the peppermint oil sink, rather than float, in
stomach fluid. The size and density of the small peppermint oil containing spheres (1) are designed so that they flow at the same rate as food from the stomach to the intestines. This allows fast, reliable and even exposure of the peppermint oil in the sites of disturbance in the gut (stomach and intestines) associated with generating occasional gut discomfort related symptoms*.

The best time to take the normal dose of 2 capsules of GutCalm is 30 to 60 minutes before a
meal. Meals are a major trigger for the disturbances in the gut associated with generating abdominal
discomfort and related symptoms. Taking GutCalm before meals should calm the gut and prevent the
disturbances which can lead to undesirable symptoms in the gut*. If you miss taking Gut Calm before a
meal, GutCalm can be taken after a meal.
